I am able to spend much of my time understanding or discovering a little more about the world.
I find the process of doing this hard but really satisfying. Nature is beautiful and I derive much pleasure from a deeper appreciation through discovery.

It’s really exciting getting to read about the research going on in the field of AI. Being exposed to the latest ideas and discussing whether they might be appicable to my lab’s work is stimulating. I love going for a walk and playing with ideas in my head.

It’s also rewarding to try taking an idea to proof-of-concept, by developing some code to acquire and prepare a dataset and train a machine learning model using that data, to explore the potential it has as a solution.
