  I have no idea! However I did do a bit of research 🙂 According to the US Department of Energy the first electric fridge was invented in 1913 by a person called Fred W. Wolf. This needed to be plugged in to the mains electricity.
  
  I also discovered that you can but rechargeable electric fridges so you can charge them and take them anywhere.
  
  I learned something today!
