well, I haven’t been directly involved in software development, based on my collaborative experiences and observations in works related to AI projects, I find the steps like data collection, data preprocessing, labeling/annotating and works like algorithm design to be particularly fascinating.

I have to agree with Muhammad here. I really like the data exploration phase, using code to acquire, clean and analyse, prior to preparing for use with a machine learning (AI) model. It’s also quite exciting trying to get a model to train correctly on the data you give it and I often shout out with success when it finally starts working as I want it to.
